Shelby County Obedience Club (SCOC) is a local dog training club. Our members are united by a shared love of dogs and a passion for helping them become well-mannered companions.
We offer beginner obedience classes for pet owners looking to build a strong foundation, as well as advanced classes for those looking to continue their training or preparing their dogs for AKC trials.​

​We offer introductory classes in obedience, rally, and agility—designed to help you engage with your dog in a fun, supportive environment.

Our classes strengthen the bond between you and your dog while providing valuable mental stimulation and physical exercise for your pup.

Vaccination Policy


  1. All dogs must have had the following vaccinations or yearly boosters:
    1. Rabies
    2. Parvovirus series (sometimes shown as the '-P' in DHLP-P)
    3. DHLP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza)
  2. It is recommended, but not required, that all dogs have Intra-trac Bordetella and Corona.
 
Note:  The shot records will be checked at registration and without the required shots – no dog will be allowed to take a class. 

Bad Weather Policy

Meetings and/or classes can be canceled due to bad weather. 
 
The weather shall be considered as BAD if the PUBLIC SCHOOLS (Memphis and/or Shelby County) have been closed due to the weather conditions.
 
Unless notified otherwise: classes will meet on the regular class day of the next week and be extended by the class missed, and club meetings will meet on their regular day on the following week.

Reactive Dog Policy

For the safety and comfort of all participants, we kindly ask that owners of reactive dogs seek private, one-on-one sessions with a qualified trainer before enrolling in group classes.

Payment Policy

At this time we only accept cash or checks.
